Bible Whale
Terms of use

The short version, in full

Effective 30 September 2026 · Bible Whale is made by SERVICO

By using Bible Whale — the website, the phone app or the Windows app — you agree to these terms. They are short because the app is simple: it is a Bible study tool, it runs on your device, and it asks very little of you.

1. What Bible Whale is

Bible Whale is an offline Bible study app made by SERVICO. It shows scripture in English alongside the Hebrew and Greek it was translated from, with lexicons, morphology, a concordance, notes and highlights, and optional AI-written commentary. You may use it for personal, church, classroom and ministry study. You may not resell it, strip out its data to build a competing product, or use it to break the law.

2. Scripture sources and licences

The texts and datasets inside the app belong to their publishers and are used under the licences below. Anything you quote from the app carries those same terms.

3. AI commentary is a study aid, not an authority

Commentary and plain-English word explanations are written by an AI model and reviewed for shape, not verified line by line. They can be wrong. Where a passage is genuinely disputed, the app is written to present the serious readings rather than settle them. Treat it as a well-read study partner, check it against the text and your own tradition, and never as a substitute for either.

4. Provided as-is

Bible Whale is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, SERVICO is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it, including loss of notes — which is why the app keeps your notes on your device first, with an account only ever holding a copy. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

5. Donations

Bible Whale is free for everyone and always will be. It is supported by donations made through Stripe on the website. Donations are voluntary, buy nothing and unlock nothing — every feature is available to everyone whether or not they donate — and they are non-refundable except where a refund is required by law. Nothing is sold inside the phone apps. We never see your card details; see the privacy policy.

6. Accounts

An account is optional and free. It exists so your notebook can sync between devices. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. The account is yours to delete at any time from Settings → Delete account; what that removes is set out in the privacy policy. Accounts are not for children under 13. We may close an account that is used to abuse the service, and we will tell you if we do.

7. Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top says when. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it; if you do not, stop using the app and, if you have one, delete your account.
